It has been 10 years since I took over IKEDA Sound Labs. in 2012.
We wanted to leave something behind as a memento of this milestone, so we decided to create a cartridge using the best technology and materials available today.
It uses a diamond cantilever and a microridge tip.
The base body is machined from titanium alloy, and the exterior is polished and finished in pink gold.
The yoke base is made of a special vibration-damping alloy that has the highest vibration and sound absorption capacity.
It took more than six months to decide on the sound by combining different plating processes and materials, but we are now finished with a product that we would like our customers to listen to.
The more you do it, the deeper it becomes, and you can never say "this is good enough", but the enjoyment of analog only increases.
Akiko was created with my desire to one day give it a name.

The way the energy is delivered is completely different. It's not that the sound is louder. Every sound in every frequency range, from low to high, is packed with vitality, and is filled to the brim with dynamism and vitality. That's why the scale of the output is so large. When the signal is picked up thoroughly and transmitted without any loss, this much energy is surely generated. It is a reproduction that is clearly on a different level from the sound of previous records.

The piano is right in front of you, and the sound sounds completely unaffected. The studio space is so vivid that it's almost as if you can see it with your own eyes.
The chamber music is full of moisture, with the sounds of string instruments flying about lightly and supplely. There is no lack of the stickiness and thick elasticity that is characteristic of string instruments, but the wide frequency range is filled with subtle irregularities, giving the music a deep, nuanced expression.
The orchestra was also simply brilliant. Strings, flutes, trumpets, timpani. Each one had a sharp, sharp attack, which only added to the vividness. It seemed as if every last bit of the record signal had been turned into sound.
The true value of diamonds has been fully utilized. The results are evident everywhere, evoking such deep emotions. It's electrifying.
